How can services support a MindMate promotion in your school?
Local support services can come into your school and promote their service to pupils and staff. This page explains what each service can offer and the target age range.
MindMate
MindMate Ambassadors are aged between 17 and 23 years with personal experience of mental health issues themselves or in their family.
Secondary settings:
- Stall with free MindMate merchandise. Pupils can talk about wellbeing and find out about support via the MindMate website
Primary settings:
- Ambassadors can attend parent coffee mornings in primary settings.

Free, BACP-accredited, safe online community of mental health support & counselling, for 10 to 18 year olds.
Years 5 to 11:

Teen Connect
Phone, text, online chat support every evening of the week for 11 to 18 year olds. Provided by Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service.

Face 2 face, phone and zoom support 3 nights a week for 11 to 17 year olds and their parents/carers. Provided by Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service.

Individual and group support to children and young people up to the age of 18 (25yrs with SEND) who have been bereaved of a significant person in their lives.

0-19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service (PHINS)
Health Visiting and School Nursing. ChatHealth is a confidential text messaging service for 11-19 year olds.
Primary and secondary settings:

Youth in Mind
Support for young people struggling with their mental health due to the impact of very difficult, frightening or distressing experiences or trauma. All staff have personal experience of trauma.
Years 6-13:

Leeds Suicide Bereavement Service
1 to 1 and group support for anybody affected by suicide. All staff have personal experience of suicide bereavement.
All year groups:
- Group support sessions for pupils/staff in the case of a death of any school community member
- Family support sessions

- Psycho-education course for pupils who have experienced any traumatic bereavement
- Information sessions on the impact of a suicide and how best to support pupils and staff
